About CRY
Our Mission
To enable people to take responsibility for the situation of the deprived Indian child and so motivate them to seek solutions through collective action thereby enabling children to realise their full rights.
Our Vision
A world in which all children have the right to a happy, healthy and creative childhood, where their rights are protected and honored.
Our History
CRY (Child Rights and You) was founded in 1979 by Rippan Kapur, a former airline purser, who believed that change was possible if ordinary people came together to make it happen. What started as a small initiative from a Mumbai apartment has grown into a movement that has impacted millions of children across India.
Over the past four decades, CRY has partnered with various grassroots organizations, working tirelessly to address issues like child labor, child marriage, lack of education, and malnutrition. Our approach focuses on sustainable change by empowering communities and advocating for policy reforms.
